Casino

“On the right hand side of river Mandavi is a harbour, the ships you can see are used for fishing, on the left hand side the boats are used for boating purpose and far away in the middle of the river you can see a huge ship, it is a world class famous casino.” The guide told me as we were crossing the bridge on Mandavi river while going from airport to Anjuna Beach.

Do you think should I do gambling for fun or should I not do as gambling is a vice?

Sleeping in aeroplane

“How can I sleep when Dad and you were dozing? Whole journey, I was awake to take care of our baggage placed in the cabins above.” A kid told his mother when aeroplane was about to land at Goa airport.

Do you think the kid is innocently intelligent or has searched a good excuse for not sleeping?

Switch off your mobile

Even after repeated instructions of airhostess to ‘Switch off your mobile’, a mobile rang as aeroplane was about to take off. The guy seems to be a villager from Haryana as he was talking on mobile in typical Haryanvi accent.
“Bro, don’t you know that a mobile phone has to be switched off in aeroplane.” A kid said to that guy.

What do you think that that guy was ignorant about this fact or he was ignoring the instructions to grab beautiful airhostess’s attention?

A borrowed book

I borrowed a book from an elderly man in my neighbourhood. Earlier I was searching that book in book shops and libraries but couldn’t find it. I requested him to lend me that book for reading. He told me that his son gave him the book on his 75th birthday. He politely asked me to return the same after reading. I convinced him that I would return it in good condition. Because of my busy schedule I could read it one third only.

Today, in the evening I heard that he is no more.

Now what should I do, read the book complete or return it to his son who has come from a foreign country for his cremation?

This is 200th post but I am not in a mood to celebrate.

Time to pack

A specific size bag is all I have to place my things. I do not want to check in my baggage as I do not want to waste time in Goa waiting for baggage. All necessary items like tooth brush, comb, money and photo identity card I have placed.

What do you suggest, should I pack western dresses like jeans, cargo, skirt and tops or Indian dresses like salwar suit dupatta or saree blouse for my trip to Goa?

Earthquake

Tonight at 1:15am, I woke up by the cluttering of windows. “OMG! Earthquake!!” I screamed.
“Happy Marriage Anniversary!!!” My husband whispered in my ears.

Mrs. ‘R’ narrated this incidence to me in the morning.

Do you think husbands always remember to wish marriage anniversary or they always forget to wish?

Little Monkey

“Aawweee!!!” I screamed as I saw a little monkey climbing on my left leg. I was eating a rolled parantha stuffed with potato veg, sitting in my car with opened door at Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary near Gurgaon. I was also holding a class bottle half filled with water.

Should I hit it on its head with the bottle in my left hand or should I throw the rolled parantha away from my right hand?

A trip to Goa!

“You need a break, Chandrika. Go on vacation for some days, it will refresh you.” A friend suggested me.
“Where I will go? It is freaking cold outside.”
“Goa! No cold waves rather pleasant weather!!”
“Not a bad idea!!!”

Should I opt for the tour packages offered by various companies or should I do everything own from ticket and hotel reservations to sight seeing?

Black money

“My hubby is such a innocent fool that if I stole the money from his pocket he never comes to know. He spends money recklessly and it is only ME who has to think about saving money. Today without telling him went to bank to deposit all that saved money that I collected from his pocket.” A newly wed wife of a reputed businessman boosted.

Her mobile rang.

“My hubby’s call! He calls me whenever he is free from his work to chat. He misses me.” She elatedly told me. “Hellooo!”

“Bank manager told me that today you went to bank to deposit huge sum of money in bank. Go to the bank and bring back that money. If you have extra money then give it to ME. This money can’t be deposited in bank as it is BLACK MONEY.” I overheard the voice of her husband on the mobile.

Do you think money should be in boring neutral colours like black money and white money or it should also be in multicolour like green money, blue money, yellow money, red money, purple money etc.?

Embroidery by me

While cleaning my cupboard, I found this piece of cloth with rose embroidery on it. A few years back I embroidered it in cross stitch on white coloured fabric.

Can you suggest me what article should I make with this embroidered piece that looks pretty?

Sabudana ki khichadi

“What is troubling you, Chandrika.” One of my elderly relative asked me.
“I forgot the recipe of Sabudana ki khichadi, all my relatives and friends at this very hour are busy who can tell me.” I replied
“You can search the net for the recipe.”

If you want to know something whom do prefer to ask relatives and friends or internet?

Bedridden woman

Her shrieks disturbed me.

She was a bedridden woman in my neighbourhood who was suffering from past 8 years. She was 72 years old. Her children left their careers to look after her. Though both were very caring and took good care of her even then she cried day and night. Her unbearable pains could be possible for her screams.
Yesterday, she died.

Should I be relieved as she gets rid of all pains or should I mourned as she is no more?

Why are you single, Chandrika?

“Do you find the time to see my birth chart?” Miss. ‘S’ asked me.

“I have a glance on your birth chart but can’t find the time to go through it in detail as I was not feeling well from past 15 days.” I replied.

“I have shown by birth charts to hundreds of astrologers. All said that my life’s difficult time started when I was 18 years old and it would remain in my life till I would be 36 years old. My studies, my career and my marriage all are affected due to this, 18 years bad time in my life! The prime time of my life is terrible!!”

“Time changes everything. You will have a good period in 2012. At that time you will have a good career and you may meet your soul mate.” I predicted for her.

“That is too far. By the way, why are you single, Chandrika; is it the worst effect of stars and planets or you can’t find a decent guy for yourself?” She asked.

New Year Greetings

This year I received New Year Greetings from my friends and relatives via electronic media. I would say that I was lucky to received one greeting card. It was yellow colored paper on which wishes were printed in red ink. That was from an 84 years old man in our locality.

The card was misprinted as
From
P. K. Singal
where as his name is R.K. Singal.

With the red pen a slant line was marked to convert ‘P’ into ‘R’ on 250 cards for all residents. Hats off to such enthu.

This year, did you receive any greeting card or just electronic messages?

Justification to smoking

“We, all poor labours do the hard work all the day. We don’t have TV or radio to entertain ourselves. It is only the bidi which we smoke to relieve our tensions and frustrations.” A labour replied to a health worker who was convincing him to stop smoking.

Do you think smoking is justified with these reasons or smoking can’t be justified at all?

Tossing a coin

In the car, she reached T point of the road, took out a coin from her pocket and tossed it. Holding it between her palms she blew. She removed her hand to see the result. Oh! No! What a disappointment on her face!

Can you suggest her whether she should take Left or Right?

Inactive snake

“Snake! Snake!! SNAKE!!!” All labours shouted in chorus.
“Where?” I enquired.
“There.” They pointed towards a brownish snake with beautiful patterns on it which was lying inactive due to cold weather.
“As I removed this rock, I found it.” A young guy explained to me.
“It won’t say anything. It is inactive because of winter season. Keep doing the work and just a little away from it.”
“We have to dig the land there, it is must.” Another elderly labour said.
“We will not work there if snake it there. We are afraid of it.” All of them spoke.
"They all are scared of this little creature, I must do something." I thought.

I took a solid wooden stick, placed its one end below the body of snake and firmly grasped the other end. Making maximum use of my scientific knowledge of lever, I with full force lifted the snake. And OMG! The snake flew above all of us and hung on a branch of a near by tree. May be I used too much of force. Sigh!

It was still dormant.

Now, what to do?

My biggest opponent

My biggest opponent is ME as I have to perform better than myself. So in 2010 whatever I have written I want to write better than that in 2011.

HAPPY 2011!

Do you think that it is a way to escape depression, tensions and frustrations of life or it is creative flow of emotions?

Word verification

While posting a comment on a blog I have to go through word verification for three times as the word that appears on screen was not clearly written and was jumbled too much that I can’t interpret it correctly.

Do you think word verification before posting a comment is mere wastage of time or protection from spam?

An endless fight!

“You want to stop a fight between father and son, Chandrika. Hmm….Can you stop the fight? NO! No, you can’t. Fight is constantly going on.” An elderly saint told me. “Our heart is divided into two parts. One tells us to do a thing and other one tells us not to do that. This is continuously going on. An endless fight! If you can’t stop the fight inside you than how can you stop an outside fight?”

Do you agree or disagree with the saint?

I know you!

As soon as I was about to cross the road in Gurgaon than a white colour car stopped in front of me. An elderly man was on driver seat and the rest of the car was empty. He gestured me to come. I thought that he might want to seek some information regarding way. He put down the glass of the opposite seat and asked, “Kya aap Allahabad se hain? (Are you from Allahabad?)”
“I have never been to ALLAHABAD and knew only about its geographical situation on the map of India.” I thought, so I replied “NO!”.
“I know you!” He elatedly said.

How can he recognise me as I havn’t uploaded my photograph on my blog or is this his favourite line which he says to everyone (she) with whom he wants to be acquainted?

Love reading all posts

Love reading all your posts.
A gal left this much comment on a guy’s blog.

Do you think she has read all the posts thoroughly or was just commenting to seek his and his blog reader’s attention?

Human touch

“Do you think its only your work which is to be done?” A bureaucrat shouted on me when I requested for doing my work. “Sit sown and wait till your turn come.”
I wasted my three precious minutes in getting the glimpses of the room. She sneezed. I broke the silence. “Oho! You are having cold.”
“Yes. I am not feeling well today.”
“Tomorrow is a holiday. At least then you can take rest.”
“Come with me. I will do your work first.” She said.

Was I buttering or giving a human touch to the whole scenario?

Santa caps

On a traffic light signal, a five year old boy was wearing bright red coloured Santa cap with a pompom. He was holding ten more such caps in his little hands for selling.

Do you think it is his age to wear such caps or sell them?

Whistling

“This lift is making a clear, shrill and sharp musical sound.” Mr. ‘Y’ said when lift was not working properly and we both were getting late for work. "Oho! So, lift is whistling for you, Chandrika!”

Reading this blog do you want to whistle or no? ;-)

Swamiji

“I have a good collection of books.”
“Will you lend me a book?” I asked.
“I am very possessive about my books. Fool buys books and wise reads them and I don’t want to be a fool!” A swamiji (saint) said.
“Knowledge is the only treasure which increases on sharing but not by saving.” I thought.

Do you think this person deserves to be called a swamiji as he has a strong desire for accumulating and not sharing or a swamiji can also be possessive about his belongings?

Click! CLICK!!

A husband lifted his wife in arms; his one arm supporting her back and other holding her from knees. Their family friend clicked the photo of newly wed couple. Suddenly the husband turned around so that his wife’s legs were now towards the camera. Before she could even protest this, zoomed in scene was captured.

What do you think clicking such photos in a public place looks decent or odd?
