Friends

After reading tag by ummon I decided to answer the first two questions. The questions are ‘Name the friend who you have known longest’ and ‘How did you meet?’

I do not have bunch of friends. Like others, I do not have more than thousand friends on my facebook rather only fifty two friends in my friend's list. There are only a few friends that really close to my heart. The friend that I wish to know for longest period or I must say I wish him to be my best friend for ever is Mr. 'Y' in the following posts.

Eating capacity , Betting game , Whistling etc.

I met him when he joined my yoga classes.

Do you want to have thousands of friends who poses to be your friend or only handful who are friends in real terms?

My blank mind

While looking at the stars on a cloudless night, I realised that my mind is blank and can’t find a good topic to write about. In general after continuous writing for some time one goes through this phase. If you wish that I carry on with writing and don’t take a long break then suggest some good ideas.

True / False

If you look back at where you were this time last year, you will probably be surprised at how much things and situations have changed in your life.

After reading this future prediction in the leading newspaper about me, I analysed the following changes took place in my life during the last year.

1. I shifted to Gurgaon where life is fast, super fast.
2. My Ex married someone else.
3. I shaved off my head.
4. There was addition of a new member in my family.
5. I fell in love with Mr. ‘H’.
6. My Ex’s wife ran away with another man.

This is a mixed bag of true and false statements. If two are false which are those? ;)

Ekla Chalo

These days I am enjoying Ravinder Sangeet which is melodious to ears as sugar to tongue. Ekla Chalo song is in Bengali language that I don’t understand even then I enjoy it and have heard it hundred of times.

Do you think music is beyond any language or language bound?

Skin color of Doctor

“Is this a doctor’s residence?” An elderly woman asked me as I opened the gate of my house.

“Yes. It is.” I replied.

“Is he is at home?” She asked looking at the name plate on which doctor’s name was printed.

“Yes, he is at home.” I said with a smile.

“Is the doctor fair or dark colored?”

What should I reply to this stupid question?

Largest society of the town

“Our society has three swimming pools, four lawn tennis grounds, three badminton courts, one basket ball ground, four huge parks, one gym, one table tennis table, two community centres and an open air theatre. It has 24 hour water supply and power back up. It is the largest society of the town!” Mr. ‘N’ said.

“Why water is over flowing from the manhole?” I asked as the nearby manhole was overflowing where we were standing.

“Oho! That. Actually the society doesn’t have a sewerage connection. And the tankers come regularly to take the waste off. Till the tankers come next time they will overflow. ”

Do you think the society have the facilities required for living or not?

Pigeons

I read in the monthly circular of a society ......

There is a growing population of pigeons : Please stop giving them seeds or else there will be pigeon shit everywhere and hard to remove from walls.

What do you think seeds should not be given to pigeons as there population is increased and their shit is hard to remove from walls or they should be at least fed properly as there is a little space left for making nests?

5000 reasons to laugh!

“Chandrika, you can come and join our laughing yoga classes. We do it regularly in the evening from 5 to 6 pm.” Mrs. ‘S’ told. “We do funny exercises and laugh looking at each other. Laughing is good for the mind, face and body; you know that as you are yoga coach.”

“I have 5000 reasons to laugh.” I proudly said.

She looked surprisingly at me with blinking eyes.

“On my blog there are 5000 comments and the comment wrote by Cinner on the previous post was 5000^th comment on my blog.”

Do you think one can do sufficient laughing yoga by reading comments on my blog or there is still need of doing laughing yoga by doing funny exercises?

“I am surprised to know that it is an art to know which animal has passed earlier while moving in the forest. Its scent, footprints and excreta are studied to know all this. Their whereabouts and numbers are also estimated.” Mr. ‘H’ said.

“Who tell you all this?” I asked.

“I read in a book.”

“That’s great!” I moved my laptop and showed him this pic which I clicked some time before. “Do you know which animal is this?”

“Camel?”

“No.”

“Elephant?”

“NO!”

“Then?”

Orange flower

Fresh flower arrangement in vase for decoration is always my passion. This flower is available in many colors like yellow and white but orange is my favourite. This beautiful flower for all my readers as this is my 425^th post.

Disappearance of an injured man

"An ambulance took the seriously injured man to some unknown destination, even police can't trace out where." A guy, eyewitness of the accident told me.

Do you think ambulance takes him to save the dying man or to make money with his living organs before he dies?

Namapathy

I have great faith in the power of Mantra and grace of the Lord. I have seen miraculous cures of the hopeless cases even in distant places. I have tremendous faith in healing through prayers - healing of diseases by chanting of Mantras and prayers. The results are wonderful. The Lord's Name is so effective. I call this NAMAPATHY.

These lines I read from 'Autobiography of Swami Sivananda'.

In your opinion can incurable disease be cured by chanting the Lord's Name or no?

Family problems

Two men, one American and an Indian were sitting in a bar and discussing about their family problems…… Shot after shot………

The Indian man said to the American, 'We have problem in India we can’t marry the one whom we love, You know my parents are forcing me to get married to this so called homely girl from a village whom I haven't even met once.' We call this arranged marriage. I don't want to marry a woman whom I don't love... I told them that openly and now have a hell lot of family problems.'

The American said, talking about love marriages... In America We can marry the one whom we love ……I'll tell you my story. 'I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated for 3 years. After a couple of years, my father fell in love with my step-daughter and married her, so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law. Legally now my daughter is my mother and my wife my grandmother. More problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother and so he is my uncle.

Situations turned worse when my father had a son. Now my father's son, my brother is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grandfather and I am my own grandson. And you say you have family problems.'

The Indian fainted........!!! :-o

After reading this somewhere on the net I want to know whether you have any family problems? ;)

A weird thought

Whenever I am ill, my mind loves to fantasise and imagine weird thoughts may be to be away from the pain and anguish. Right now, my mind is drawing an image of aeroplane with 250 persons on it, 100 persons standing in it, 150 sitting on the roof of the main body of aeroplane, 60 on its each wing which is flying high over the empty roads.

With this lots of problems can be solved like

1.No traffic jams on roads

2.Fuel saving

3.Longer distances travel by masses in less time.

What else?

One set of footprints!

While cleaning my wardrobe I found my diary in between the piles of files and books. I opened it. At page No. 73 some lines were written from the book 'Nuggets' ....

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. Sometimes there were two sets of foot prints, other times there was only one. This bothered me because I noted that during the low periods of my life when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to Lord, "You promised me that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most difficult time of my life there has been only one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I have needed you most have you not been there with me?"

Lord replied, "During your times of sufferings when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

In difficult times does this really happens or it is just a good theory to calm the agitated mind?

Love-life

Every man's love-life is interesting. If he doesn't have one, that's interesting. If he has one, that's interesting. And if he has two, that's twice as interesting.
I read these lines in 'A Suitable Boy' by Vikram Seth.

Price tag

“Mom, come with me I want to show you something. If we take that home, our home will look beautiful. Mom, please come and have a look at it.” A grown up kid of near about ten or eleven years asked his mother. I overheard the conversation. As mother was busy in shopping he pleaded again. His repeated requests made me curious and when he showed the thing of his interest to her mother I clicked it. The price tag on the swing was Rs. 2,02,500/-.


What do you think mother will buy it for the kid or she will made an excuse where is the place in the house to keep it?

Rejection

“Why are you sad? Business problem? Huh??” Mr. ‘H’ asked.
“My story has been rejected.” I said with dismay.
He patted my shoulder with affection. “The publishers will reject you so many times that you will forget the pain of rejection by your ex. By the way was he really worth of rejecting you?”

My first short story

Yesterday I recieved this mail.

I clicked this simple photo after great effort as this man dressed in langur was crowded with kids, young girls, guys and even aunties and uncles to shake hand with him or to have a click with him. Like langur, he screeched to shoo every one away.

What do you suggest should I also click a photo with him to post it on social networking site or should not have a photo with him as it will look ridiculous?

Haemoglobin & Chlorophyll

“My daughter has cleared the medical entrance exam.” Mr. ‘J’ told me.
“Congrats! What is her name?” I asked.
“Haemoglobin.”
“It is her real name or nick name?”
“Real name. And my son’s name is Chlorophyll.”

Do you think Haemoglobin and Chlorophyll are unique or funny names?

In a book shop I saw Annual horoscope 2009 by Bejan Daruwalla. Nobody buy it in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Let us hope that someone might buy it in 2012.

GOD?

“I don’t believe in God. I hate God.” A middle aged widow said after hearing about the untimely death of her daughter. She was a religious woman before this incidence.

Why we have faith in GOD when we are happy and loses it as soon as any sorrow comes in our lives?

On the other side of fence

I clicked a photo of them and showed them. And then they all gave this beaming pose. The group was standing on the other side of fence saying ‘hello’ and ‘bye’ to each passer-by. Most of the persons were ignoring them.

I searched my purse of some toffees and found only one.

What do you think should I give them or should drop that idea as they were four in number?

“Believe me or not, I write erotic romance.” ;)

Dustbin?

As we were walking through a forest area, the kid in our group after eating chocolate asked me, “Should I throw this wrapper in this dustbin?” I couldn’t see any other dustbin nearby nor was sure what this construction was for. In such a situation what do you think should be mine reply?

Chuja in the bank!

“Chuja! Chuja Stop!! CHUJA STOP!!!” A young woman screamed to a tiny dog whose chain slipped from her hand in the bank. She tried to stop him while slowly running towards him.

Which was more irritating; she brought the dog in the bank or the dog name was ‘Chuja’ (chick)?

Evening walk companion!

“What are you doing?” Mr. ‘H’ asked me on phone.
“Evening walk!” I replied.
“Alone?”
Just then I saw a creature moving along the side of path with me. So I said. “No. Not alone.”
“With whom?” He was damn curious to know.

Short story competition

I am thinking of participating in a short story writing competition. I have to frame a story of more than 5000 words which is really a tough task for me.

As the genre is mythology should I write an incidence form Ramayana or Mahabharata?

Lights in meditation

“With close eyes the colors we see are more vibrant and bright as compare to what we see with our open eyes.” I told my student.
“Is it true?”
“Why don’t you experience it yourself?” I suggested.

Parking charges

“Madam, your parking charges are Rs. 10/- as you parked your car here at 2pm.” He said.
I searched my pockets, found thousand rupee notes only and hesitantly asked. “Do you have the change?”
“For hundred rupees? Yes. Yes.”
“No.”
“For five hundred? Yes. Yes.”
“No.”
“Then?”
“For thousand rupee.”
“Don’t you have the change. Madam?”
“Let me see.” I searched the car pocket in which I kept some change. At that time there were two coins of one rupee and one coin of two rupees and a total of Rs. 4/- in it. “What do you want Rs. 4/- or return the change for Rs. 990/-?”

Langur on three wheeler

Today I saw a langur sitting on the roof of a three-wheeler which was headed towards some unknown destination. It had a rope in its neck and the other end was in the owner’s hand who was sitting inside the moving vehicle. I searched my purse for mobile to click the photo. Oops! I forgot it at home.

Do you think it is a common or rare scene?

High tea

“I have an invitation of a meeting and they will be serving high tea.” I said excitedly.
“That’s great.” Mr. ‘H’ said.
“Will they be serving tea mixed alcohol in it?”
“Oh! No. No….They will be serving tea with pakodas.”
“OMG! They will blend something… I mean something wrong in pakodas.”
He winked. “Why don’t you ask this with your blogger friends?”
“Is it really a worth question asking them?”

Your best work

While reading guidelines for submission of short story to a reputed magazine I come to know that they want me to submit my one of my best work. I can’t decide which my best or worst work is, really I can’t. Even if someone ask me which is my best blog I am undecided because I can write and I find myself unable to judge my own writings.

Grass not so green!

“Why did you click the photo of the grass that is not so green?” Mrs. ‘L’ asked me.
“I did not click it for the grass but….. What?” I replied while raising my eyebrows.

One more year

With the increase in the size of frowns and decrease in the size of smiles on my face I add up one more year to my life…;)
