“Do you know what happened in Building No. 2?” Mrs. ‘P’
said.
“No. I don’t. I was out of the town for a week.” I replied.
“A young woman jumped from the sixth floor, crowd gathered
around her in a few minutes as it was day time. Most of the persons were
standing still not doing anything to help her. They didn’t even bother to call
police or ambulance. They were just gossiping why a young woman who had a three
year old son tried to commit suicide.”
“That’s sad.”
“I took the step to take her to the hospital. In the evening
her husband came to my house and surprisingly instead of thanking me he blamed
me for taking his wife to a government hospital instead of any reputed private hospital.”
I couldn’t find the right word to utter.
She said with moist
eyes. “Do I make a mistake by helping a dying woman?”
But why didnt she taker the dying lady to a private hospital? doesnt matter...she did her job!
ReplyDeleteChandrika,
ReplyDeleteSome persons lack sense of gratitude.
Take care
She did what she could that moment rather than be a mere spectator to the incident. Saving life was more important which she did.
