Season of marriages and functions

“Last two months were the season of marriages and functions so I ate non-veg dishes and drink a lot. From past a few days, I had a light pain in my heart. I had a thorough check up; it was a great relief to find out that I had no heart problem. The doctor advised me to eat light food as it might be a gastric problem. You know, I am Punjabi and we love to eat spicy and fried food. In boiled dal (pulses) we add half kilogram of desi ghee to make it delicious. I told my doc that even my dog didn't relish porridge and hotchpotch. It would sniff and leave.” A young guy narrated his story to me.

Do you have control on your eating habits in season of marriages and functions or no?

An unforgettable experience!

“How was your trip to Goa?” I asked the kid.
“It was so so as I was not feeling well and had vomiting sensation most of the time during journey in semi hilly area.”
“Mine was an unforgettable experience!” I said. “What did you like most in Goa?”
“When the waves hit me from behind, I fell in water and when I swim, they pushed me further. This was an unforgettable experience. I liked the Vagator Beach the most. Which beach you liked?”
“The beaches, I liked so so. But I liked the country side very much especially the lake near airport which was flooded with white lotus. I am really proud that lotus is our National flower.”

Have you ever seen so many lotuses at one place or no?

No coconut water!

On most of the beaches in Goa, there were waves in oceans, sand, bars & restaurants and coconut trees with numerous fruits of all sizes.

Surprisingly no shops were selling coconut water on beaches. But on every selling point there were varieties of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Mineral water in different brand names were also available.

Do you think this is commercialisation of beaches or to preserve the beauty of beaches coconuts are not sold as coconut took time in biodegradation?

It stinks!

“I am having vomiting sensation.” The kid told me.
I immediately stopped the car. “Let’s have a short walk to harbour of Mandavi River which is near.”
“Fine.” He said while stepping out of the car.
We crossed the road and entered a fish market closed to harbour.
“It stinks. I can’t bear it.” The kid who is eggetarian reacted.
“You have to cope with it.” I told.
“No, I can’t.”
“Put your handkerchief on your nose.” I suggested.
He took fast paces to fish market and harbour and declared “I am alright. I have no more vomiting sensation. Let’s move out of this place.”

His vomiting sensation evaporated because of short walk to harbour or because of foul smell of fish market?

Close your eyes

Location : Vagator Beach, Goa

“I forget the towel in the hotel. Now how will I change my clothes in front of so many people? I am not like these foreigners who change their clothes on beach without a towel. We have to go back to hotel to fetch my towel.” A kid narrated this problem to me.
“There is one more option.” I said.
“Whats that?” He enquired excitedly.
“We can ask everyone on the beach to close their eyes while you change your clothes.”

Will the child be irritated or amused with this dialogue of mine?

2000 $ Prize!

Location : Parking area of Baga Beach, Goa

“You win second prize of 2000 $! You are a lucky lady!! There are so many people who try their luck daily but only a few get this prize. I, myself has seen this prize for the first time. Earlier I have just heard about it. You have to just come with me to my resort which is two minutes distance from here. You have to meet the staff and they will hand over you the prize money.” A young guy told me as on scratching the card given by him showed second prize of 2000 $ out of four other prizes printed on that card.
“Hmmm.” I said.
“I will get Rs. 500 if you will visit our resort.”

Should I go to that resort and collect the prize money or should I forget about that as it can be a fraud?

Goan Food

In lunch, I ordered Goan food veg balchao, pea rice and curd. Before serving the meal, the waiter of Goan resturant placed the bill on the table.

Do you think the waiter was sleeping even at lunch time or one has to pay the bill before Goan food is served?
