Search engine

A blogger commented somewhere on net :

I search ‘……..’ my pen name on a search engine and results shows 31234+ results :-) and ‘………’ my original name on the same search engine shows only one result. :-(

Do you think one's pen name is more popular?

  3. Search engines do not give results on popularity, do they?? Searching a pen name is easier since it has many linked pages...your own name may or may not fetch any results...

  15. My pen name shows 1800 results in google and a lot of it is unrelated to me, I guess nine from ten. My real name shows double the amount and I KNOW that 19 from 20 are unrelated to me.

  16. Chandrika,

If you write under pseudo name and you are read by many, that is the one which people recognize.

    Take care

  18. Somehow my friend... but i think one is enough... too many pen names just make the readers feel annoyed and confused...!:)

    Have a good day!:)

  19. Ha ha....at times our pseudo self is more popular than the real self (though both are a part of the real) :)

  20. I am one of the lucky few, I guess, who gets a whole load of links when I type my name in Google! I really do not have an answer to your question, but I guess the pen name is popular because that is what an author uses to identify himself/herself to the rest of the world.
