Small pieces of candles

“It seems that some fault has occurred in the electric wire supplying electricity to our house.” The kid said as he saw other houses in the locality were well lit with the back up power supply.
“Oh! The battery of mobile is discharged. The emergency light will not work as I forget to charge it. There are no candles as need never arise because of power back up system in this society.” The mother said in disappointment.
“Next day of Diwali I collected unburned pieces of candles from our balcony and stored them in my box. I have two small candles. We can use them.” The kid went to fetch them.

I was their guest who was observing this.

Should one store such small things in house as they can be needed any time or they just occupy the good space and are useless most of the time?

  3. These small things tend to amass. And two days after you have got rid of them you need them ...

  6. Well in this case storing those half-burnt candles saved the day or rather evening. We should keep atleast a pack of candles for emergency situations like these.

  7. Chandrika,

It is good habit to have standby for each service but not in large quantity taking up excessive space.

    Take care
