Desire

Statement 1 :
Desire is the root cause of all sufferings.

Statement 2 :
Desire is the root cause of all success.

    Both, it depends on the desire I think, whether it is a good desire or bad.

    If you Do what you Determine, you will Derive what you Desire. That will lead to success.

    But if your deeds are not in consonance with your desires then it will certainly lead to despair hence sufferings.
